Pepsi Tet 2008

Summary: Our company was called in to pitch for the 2008 Lunar New Year website for Pepsi in Vietnam. Although we did not win the pitch, my design and animation sequences were used.

Top 7 Ways to Access Your Creativity

7. Write some keywords associated with your project on a small piece of paper. Crumple it and hold it in your palm. Make a fist. Close your eyes. Imagine the words on the paper trying to explode out through your closed fist, heating your palm and the inside of your hand as they attempt to escape. Finally open your hand and drop the paper to the floor. Rethink your challenge.
6. Close your eyes. Regulate your breathing. In the blackness of your mind, imagine the color red. Let the color fill the entirety of your mental landscape. Now place a blue dot in the center of the red. Let the blue overcome the red completely. Do the same with five different colors. Open your eyes and think again about your original problem.
5. Try thinking about something from different emotions. Try anger, happiness, giddiness, confusion.
4. Take an ordinary everyday object like a book or a chair, and imagine it is alive. How does it move? What sound does it make? What are its origins? Opens your mind to the unexpected.
3. Go outside and pick a random spot. Imagine you are an archeologist from the future, looking back on this spot. What could have happened here? What's the story of this place, these people?
2. Try looking at an object from different perspectives; front, back, left/right side, top, bottom, close up, far away. Make mental notes or even sketch on paper what you see without thinking about the object as a whole.
1. Brainstorm using a mindmap. Put keywords in the center, and let your mind freely associate ideas.
